So, with the Crew in England now, but nothing to report from the trip yet, unless you are interested in Duncan Oughton’s thoughts on airline peanuts, I thought I would share some of the various readings on these here interwebz that I have been reading that are Crew related. Maybe this will become a daily feature if I remember to look for stuff, but I am not promising anything. So here it is, your meat free because it’s Ash Wednesday, Crew link dump. I thought I would post an attractive lady along with the links, because I am not above shameless pandering for hits and I enjoy the blog With Leather and I thought imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. This week it is Megan Fox, who apparently recently broke up with her boyfriend. The boyfriend is some 35 year old C List actor who Megan met on some TV show that eventually got canceled. Boy, he sounds like a winner. Anyways, commencing link dump.

If you are needing to relive the glories of the 2008 Columbus Crew MLS Cup winning season(it might be a rule that anytime I mention that season, I will link to that picture), the Crew’s official homepage has a great video summing up the highlights of the season. Check it out here!

The Partisan is a nice new blog covering the beautiful game, with a focus on the MLS, that is written by “The Ultra” of BigSoccer fame. The Ultra makes some great images via photoshop, but has now apparently taken his internetz game to the blogs and has done so quite successfully I might add. He has also scored an nice interview with Crew midfielder, US Olympic squad member, and all around dreamboat, Robbie Rogers. Check out The Ultra’s interview here!

In my opinion, the most improved player last year was Danny O’Rourke. From the beginning of the season until the end, Danny went from a defensive liability to a solid part of the line up and a given starter for every match. Hopefully Danny continues to improve this year, but in the mean time, he has been writing about his experiences in training camp so far here.

Finally, I am also a sucker for some Deadspin (as if Deadspin is desperately hoping that I link to their up and coming, struggling for hits site. Yeah, right…) spin off blogs. Apparently a couple of the commenters from the Soccer Pub posts on Deadspin have decided to open a blog on soccer called Avoiding the Drop. It has been pretty solid in its first couple of days, and if other Deadspin commenter soccer blogs are the standard, then Avoiding the Drop will be must read stuff. I love me some Unprofessional Foul, but they are often don’t mention the MLS much unless it has something to do with some underwear model. Avoiding the Drop had a 2009 MLS Eastern Conference Preview that was pretty good, though they mentioned the ugly incident in CCS against New England in June, but did not mention all the work the Crew and the fans did to correct it. Luckily, they had me to correct them in the comments. Anyways, check out their preview here!

*Update* I know the blog is screwy and you can’t leave comments, but I am not sure how to fix it. I have inquired for help from the higher ups and will hopefully have it fixed soon. The links should still work, but if you wanted to leave a comment about how awesome I am, you’ll just have to save it for later.

*Update #2* Everything should be working. You can now tell me how awesome I am!
