Crew Crashes Out of Open Cup…Worrying Signs
By: Jeff | April 25th, 2007Without having watched this game, there’s not much more that I can do than let the record show that the Los Angeles Galaxy barred the Columbus Crew’s entry to this year’s U.S. Open Cup on the back of a single goal by forward Nate Jaqua. I may also note in passing that kinda sucks.
One other thing: the Crew’s problems with scoring hardly constitute a state secret, but look at this line-up the Crew failed to score against:
Steve Cronin, Ian Russell (Cobi Jones 72), Ty Harden, Shavar Thomas, Mike Randolph, Quavas Kirk (Chris Albright 63), Kevin Harmse, Nathan Sturgis, Kyle Martino (Robbie Findley 74), Landon Donovan, Nate Jaqua.
It’s also worth noting that the Crew started a fairly close match to its starting eleven - and that’s not a good sign.

Yikes, they lost to that lineup at home. Well at least they can concentrate on the league now, right? BTW, nice to see former Timber Mike Randolph play.

Jeff, jealousy is an ugly emotion. It’s not our fault our B team is the equivalent of most teams’ A teams.
(Says the woman whose team thus far has one point for the season.)
