From the Nordecke to your computer screen!

Greetings Crew fans! My name is Matt and I will be guiding you on the journey through the internet for everyone’s favorite returning MLS Cup champs, the Columbus Crew! Some of you might recognize my name from other parts of this here website we know and love called The Offside. I also contribute to the Celtic Offside. For those familiar with my work on the Celtic offside, you can expect the same level of immature dick jokes (preferably while using players names, one of my crowning achievements so far in the blogging game was taking Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink’s name and turning it into a metaphor for pulling a groin. Scoreboard.), mocking opposing teams players and fans (although without such easy targets Rangers and Aberdeen, I might need to step my game up. Chicago, DC, Toronto and Dave Martinez of the NY Red Bulls blog and his affinity to post myspace-esque photos of himself will sure to be targets), and a whole heck of biased opinions about my favorite team, in this case YOUR MLS CUP CHAMPIONS, THE COLUMBUS CREW! I promise to try and get you, the reader all the latest on the comings and goings of the Crew this offseason and of course my thoughts on what I’m sure will be another glorious Columbus Crew season. Hopefully, Crew fans continue to be spoiled with great play again this year. Last year was a dream for any Crew fan, but it was much deserved for many of the Crew supporters who stuck with the team through the Andrulis years and the mediocrity that followed. Those guys deserve ten seasons like last year for what they’ve been through and I hope that they get it again this season. So much has already occurred in the off season for the Crew and over the next couple of days I will try to give my thoughts on the Fat Man Sigi Schmid leaving town, the Polish Rifle taking over, and other issues for the Crew this offseason. Believe it or not, the season is not that far away. Only 39 days until Crewsmas! Until then, here’s a little Nordecke action to tide you over.
